Books, books and more books

Image
I started organizing the books on Becky’s family room bookcase and then I got an idea to take all her books and organize them… when you give a mouse a cookie kinda situation. Almost all the books in the house. Little guy moving in. All the church books. Still need to find a place for them in the house but we’ll figure that out tomorrow.  Cute little hutch. Books on the top left are little girl’s chapter books, top right are boy’s chapter books, bottom left girl’s chapter books, bottom right are Becky’s books and then the ones in front are the little boys. All the series! This was the bookcase I started at. And then very top and bottom are adult books. Donation books. We want to take some to the two little libraries near us once a week and then the other box we’ll take to D.I. Top box are all the little children hardcover picture books. Bottom box are little children soft cover picture books. And box on the right are Becky’s inspiration/precious books. All these books will be kept and r

You Ain’t Nothin’ But a Hound Dog

Is  Vegas  by Doja Cat playing in my headphones on repeat,   while I write this? Yes, yes it is. I’m obsessed. With this movie? Not so much. While I loved our beloved Austin Butler playing Elvis,   I don’t think the movie was executed correctly. The film itself was beautiful and the acting was top notch. I absolutely loved how they explained Elvis’ back story. Though it was fast,   and I wanted more,  they did a pretty good job covering his upbringing. I thought Austin Butler looked like Elvis in most  shots. In  a few scenes he seemed  a little too skinny, but for the most part I could see it. Loved his voice and his acting was perfect.  On to the cons… This movie had a very confusing plot and I think it lost me as soon as Elvis  married Priscilla. For the most part when I watch movies,  I can keep track of the characters and remember their names but from that moment on… well no,  from the beginning of the movie I missed out on many of the names of those who  played Elvis’ friends a

It’s My Party, and I’ll Cry If I Want To

How I would like you to picture me: How I started the day in actuality and what I looked like for most of it. In a lot of pain. My body likes to celebrate the day of my birth with period pains. Every single year. Rebecca made me some lovely pancakes. So scrumptious. Took myself to Elvis. Fun little tradition. Very Jessica Day. I want to write a blogpost all about the movie but I’m exhausted. I didn’t sit in my assigned seat in the theater and I think I messed up everyone seats… Butter being silly. Mom and dad sent me Crumble. So so lovely! Becky took me to a yummy restaurant that cooks in front of you and it was so much fun! The clouds were so beautiful! Becky gave me the nicest birthday! I loved it!

The summer solstice.

Tonight marks the longest day of the year. I love this day but also it makes me quite sad as the days will slowly get shorter and I strongly dislike that.  Photos from this weekend. We celebrated my Grandma.

Lola Marie Nelson.

My beautiful Grandma Nelson passed away yesterday.  My Grandma next to my dad. I love that she’s holding a flower in her hand. She always came outside and waved goodbye. June 5, 2022.

First off it was Dad’s birthday. So we celebrated a day early with his favorite pie. Almost 7 hour road trip. Payson Temple looking cute. We had to keep my mom a secret on the trip because Lydia didn’t know she was coming. A very surprised Lydia. We dropped off mom and she waited until Lydia spotted her at the airport. We went to a taco place and boy was it chaotic but delicious. Then a chocolate place. The sample was incredible. It had a cacti garden. We walked around on a street that happened to have the venue for the concert. We rode in the High Roller and even convinced mom to go on it. Went back to the hotel and got ready. The band that played before was Sub Urban. They were funny to watch lol. She was incredible. I had the best time with Lydia Belle. We waited for mom and dad to pick us up from their concert. They went to the Dobbie Brothers hehe Went to breakfast the next day. So yummy. Drove by the temple in Las Vegas. Mermay but Running with the Wolves song. Walked around base
